St. John’s College is part of Cambridge University. St. John’s College was founded in 1511 having previously been a hospital before that time, making it over 500 years old. In 2011, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the college to celebrate its 500th birthday by cutting a cake!
You are able to explore the wonderful grounds of the college as you wish, however, it is recommended that you have a guided tour to ensure that you don’t miss any of the good bits!
The guided tour will take you around all of the grounds of the college and also into the library and the chapel of the college. You are asked to respect your environment throughout due to students who are living and studying around you. The college is closed on the 14th-20th June; this is because of exam dates for the students who are studying at the college.
