Last weekend, I was lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful visit to The Senate Bistro,
a restaurant I have been eager to visit for quite some time.
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome from a friendly staff member, who despite a busy Saturday evening, was attentive and prompt throughout. I was lucky enough to be seated by the window, overlooking the stunning Senate House.
Positioned perfectly in the heart of Cambridge, the bistro itself is petite, intimate and relaxed, with both indoor and outdoor seating – perfect on a sunny afternoon.
It was difficult to choose what to have from a menu packed with fresh & locally sourced dishes; I opted for Patatas Bravas to start, which was lovely. I followed that up with a Pea & Shallot Ravioli, which was light, fresh and simply delicious. For dessert, Creme Brûlée – obviously! Full of flavour, creamy and rich, it was to die for; All washed down with a refreshing glass of Pimms.
The food was stunning yet what sets this bistro apart is the location, where you can peacefully watch the world pass you by.
I found the prices reasonable given the location and quality of the food on offer, that said, it was slightly more expensive than my usual eating spots. I would have no hesitation in coming back here and it would be perfect for a special occasion or a date night. I’d highly recommend giving The Senate Bistro ago, but make sure you book in advance.
